How to Generate Coloring Pages

ColorGenPro makes it easy to create beautiful, print-ready coloring pages using AI. You can generate coloring pages from text descriptions or by uploading your own images.

Getting to the Generator

Navigate to the main generator at Create or click "Create" in the navigation menu.

Both personal and commercial accounts can use this feature. Commercial accounts have full commercial usage rights for all generations.

Two Ways to Generate

1. Text Mode (Default)

Describe what you want in words, and our AI will create a coloring page based on your description.

How to use Text Mode:

  1. Type your description in the text box (up to 2048 characters)
  2. Click the "Get an Idea" button if you need inspiration (generates random suggestions)
  3. Select your preferred difficulty and aspect ratio
  4. Click "Generate Coloring Page"

Examples of good text prompts:

  • "A cute unicorn with flowing mane in a magical forest"
  • "Friendly robot playing with children in a playground"
  • "Detailed mandala with geometric patterns and flowers"
  • "Ocean scene with dolphins, fish, and coral reef"

2. Image Mode

Convert your own images into coloring pages. Perfect for turning photos, drawings, or artwork into printable coloring pages.

How to use Image Mode:

  1. Click the "Image" toggle to switch from Text to Image mode
  2. Upload an image by clicking "Choose File" or pasting from your clipboard
  3. Supported formats: PNG, JPG, WEBP (max 10MB)
  4. Select your preferred difficulty and aspect ratio
  5. Click "Generate Coloring Page"

Choosing Difficulty

Select the complexity level that matches your audience:

  • Easy (1 star) - Simple lines and large areas, great for young kids and markers
  • Medium (2 stars, Default) - Balanced detail, perfect for most users
  • Hard (3 stars) - Intricate details and complex patterns for advanced colorists

Choosing Aspect Ratio

Select the page orientation:

  • Square (1:1) - Equal height and width
  • Landscape (4:3) - Wider than tall, horizontal orientation
  • Portrait (3:4, Default) - Taller than wide, vertical orientation

Generation Process

After clicking "Generate Coloring Page", you will see real-time progress through these stages:

  1. Queued - Your request is in the queue
  2. Moderating - Content safety check
  3. Generating - AI creating your coloring page
  4. Making it nice - Optimizing the design
  5. Fixing it up - Final adjustments
  6. Print ready - Preparing download formats
  7. Saving - Saving to your account
  8. Completed - Ready to download!

Generation typically takes 30-60 seconds depending on complexity.

After Generation

Once your coloring page is complete, you can:

  • Download in multiple formats: PNG (best for digital use), JPG (smaller file size), or PDF (perfect for printing)
  • Edit - Use the built-in drawing editor to make adjustments
  • Add Tags - Organize your creations for easy finding later
  • Delete - Remove if you are not happy with the result

Credits

Each generation costs 1 credit. You will see your credit balance at the top of the page. If you are running low, you will be prompted to purchase more credits.

You can purchase personal or commercial credit packages. Commercial accounts receive full commercial usage rights for all generations.

Tips for Best Results

  • Be specific: More detail in your description = better results
  • Use descriptive words: Words like "cute", "detailed", "simple", or "intricate" help guide the AI
  • Try the idea button: Great for inspiration when you are stuck
  • Experiment with difficulty: Same prompt at different difficulties produces different results
  • Check recent creations: Your last few generations appear below the form for quick reference

Content Guidelines

All generations are checked for content safety. Please avoid requesting:

  • Violent, harmful, or disturbing content
  • Adult or sexual content
  • Hateful or discriminatory content
  • Copyrighted characters or branded content
